About
Unfair. Unbalanced. Uncorrect.
It's another night in the studio for the Breaking News team. The clock is ticking down to live broadcast time, and lead anchors Bruce Treadwell, Barbara Jean Hanson, and the rest of the Breaking News team are dedicated to producing the best darn news show possible.
Each Breaking News performance begins with a behind the scenes look at the Breaking News team. Based on audience
suggestions, the night's stories are handed out, and on-location teams leave the theater to shoot their pieces. The rest of the
Breaking News team prepares for the inevitable broadcast, rehearsing promos, shooting interviews and finalizing the night's stories.
The show ends, of course, with the final Breaking News broadcast, incorporating live in-studio elements with on-location segments
filmed that very night.
Breaking News is directed by Seattle Neutrino
Project's Celene Ramadan and is a co-creation with Subatomic, the producers of Neutrino. Celene herself was a news reporter
for NHPTV in New Hampshire.
The cast includes Joel Dale (as Bruce Treadwell), Sean Buckley (as Mick Finley), Annette Auger (as
Michelle Wang), Steve Lange (as Buck Rudebaker), Erin Stewart (as Barbara Jean Hanson), Graham Downing (as “The Intern”),
Amanda Lee Williams (as Trish Fink), and Raymond L. Williams (as Storm Halifax).
Breaking News performances are at 8:00PM on April 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th and May 3rd, 4th,
10th, 11th, 17th and 18th. All shows are at the Historic University Theater (5510 University Way NE) and ticket prices are $10 (GA)
and $8 for students/seniors.
There is a Breaking News Opening Night Gala on Thursday, April 5th. Following the 8:00PM show will be a
